1995 Saturn SL1 Manual Transmission

\015 I have a 1995 Saturn SL1 (manual transmission) the car is reving really high in 3rd, 4th and 5th with very little acceleration, I was told it was teh gears slipping or it could just be the fluid, any suggestions?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-04-2021

Answers :

Sounds like the friction surface of the clutch disc is slipping. You would have to install a new clutch (clutch disc, pressure plate, and clutch release bearing), and have the flywheel surface cut and polished back to perfect smooth by a shop.
Manual transmission gears don't slip like automatics. And lack of fluid in the transaxle or the hydraulic clutch system won't cause this either.
