Having problems with your 1995 Subaru Legacy ?

Button on console and power button

\015 I have a 1995 subaru legacy 4x4 non turbo ej20 bg5 wagon ,There is a button in front of the tranmission gear lever and I would like to know what it is for ???? and also the power button on the gear lever (auto Trans) if I am driving along in drive and the button is pushed to select the power option should the trans drop down a gear ,i.e from 4th to 3rd Can anyone help me please\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-12-2018

The power button extends the time in each gear, the other button I think your describing juts up vertically in front of the AT selector. if you press this down you'll find that you can move the selector without having the ignition key in, it's a get out of jail card really
I do not know the button infront of the gear lever since it is not there in all Legacys. I have a 98 GT and there are no bottuns in front of the lever. As for the power button, when pushed, it pulls longer in each gear in order to assit with quick acceleration.
