Having problems with your 1995 Toyota 4Runner ?

1995 toyota 4 runner problem: is that when accelerating it acts like its starving for gas.Took it to shop and they said it was the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump, filter and it still has the same problem. It idles fine and takes off fine but when you accelerate it starts hesitating and sounds as if its backfiring at the engine. It has new plugs, wires, distributor cap and button.I've checked the continuity on the airflow meter and it reads 281 ohms so it is suppose to be ok also.If you can help

Answers :

You might have compression issues on a specific cylinder that only show up when you accelerate. Unless you can do it yourself, you'd have to take it in.
