Having problems with your 1996 Chevrolet Camaro ?

Radio shuts off

\015 I have a 1996 chevy camaro rs and i recently change the radio. the radio nows turns off on it's own. i thought it was the cd changer I had so i took it out but it still does it.what do I do?does a radio have a fuse because the cigarette lighter does not work and I thought it might have something to do with that.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-09-2021

Yes there is a fuse in the fuse panel drivers side up where the dash meets the door panel. sounds like you have a bad connection in either the red wire(switched +12 volt) going to the stereo or the yellow wire (unswitched +12 volt) or in the ground wire which is black it need a good constant connection on all three to operate correctly. you can temporarily try running a wire directly to the battery and hooking yellow and red wires to the + and the black to the - and see if the problem goes away if it does you have a wire that is losing its connection somewhere in your car
