Brake Lights not working

\015 Checked fuses ... they are good .... put in new bulbs both sides ... was told it could be the brake pedal switch or the main switch that runs to the brake lights. Is there any diagrams to show me where to look for these switches.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

Answers :

The brake pedal switch on most cars or trucks is near the top of the brake pedal assembly where it pivots under the dash. As you move the pedal it releases the switch.
The switch is on your brake padal arm, around the steering column area. You will have to remove some of the panels below the steering wheel. The switch when closed, the pedal up, or not applied, is open, meaning power will come to it one one wire, but not leave. Switch open, when the pedal is pushed will send the voltage through the switch. Note that extra wires may be for cruise control.
