Having problems with your 1996 Chrysler Cirrus ?

The horn on my car (which is my car alarm) goes off on its own

\015 I was driving home one day and all of a sudden the horn started beeping with out me touching it. at first i thought it was other cars but then i realized it was my car. out of the blue it just started beeping. now a couple of days later my friend was giving it a tune up when he went to get in the car he notied that the car was locked but the window was down so he unlock it with his hand and when he opened the door the alarm, (horn) started going off, but he just continued and put the key in the ignition and started up the car. when he went to back up the car shut off and we couldn't get it started. we couldn't figure out what had just happend. well we've replaced the fuel pump along w/some other thingsf and still couldn't get it going. finally a coworker looked up something on the net and gave it to me. well i had my brother and friend working on it until they got it started. however, the horn doesn't work because they had to disable it because the alarm wont stop beeping!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG W/THIS CAR. 1996 CHRYSLER CIRUS LX1\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 16-07-2018

Answers :

There are relays in the cars security systym that may be sticking, they use elec. relays for everthing in there and they start going bad and it wont start, maybe you can run a new wire to the horn to bypass the computer.
There possibly could be a short to ground. Meaning somewhere in the wiring for the horn the wiring is connecting to a good ground before running through any of the relays or switches within the vehicle or computer. without those relays and switches being used, it will not stop due to it being grounded whether or not the switch and/or relay is flipped.

Hoped this helped!
