Having problems with your 1996 Ford Explorer ?

Constantly adding power steering fluid

\015 I had to constantly add power steering fluid so I had a new one installed. Still having the same problem. What could be going on. The garage that replaced the old one said that maybe a seal went bad but wouldn't that have come with the new pump?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

Exactly! What Peter said. That fluid has to be going somewhere. The shop may have been talking about a seal on the rack and pinion gear, but if they knew there was a leak, they should have checked the steering gear for leaking when they had the car.
I guess that repair shop visit was a waste of your
time & money

Try another & hopefully somewhat competant shop

Hard to believe they could even do half a diagnoses
& half a repair & stay in business
