Having problems with your 1996 Ford Mustang ?

My 96 mustang gt started acting funny and then white smoke came out of the tail pipes. When it did that it died. I got it started and drove it home. It has sit up for a few months now and it wont start. We jumped it off and it started but died again and wouldnt restart. We charged the battery all day and tried it again and nothing. The theft light is flashing too! Can you help please?

Well not sure about the white smoke part, but I have had some dealings with a flashing theft light. the key to mine has a lil transponder in it, and until the ignition switch picks up the correct transponder, the theft light flashes at you and it wont run. but on these you can usually reprogram it to a different one if necessary. might try turning the ignition to the on position, and leave it for 15 min til the theft light quits blinking, when it does, turn the ignition off and then back to the on position for another 15 min. doing this 3 times (45 min total) reprograms the computer to a new transponder key... or hopefully helps retrain the one you had.
Mine did same exact thing today... What was wrong;???
