Many times using marvel oil in the engine or changing to a quality synthetic oil will remove the residue that is causing them to stick, if so, you won't need to take it apart at all. (give this some time...it didn't happen overnight and won't go away overnight either.) The job itself is not terribly difficult, time depends upon your skill level and ability. I suggest you get a manual and follow instructions exactly if you never have done one before. Price depends upon what you find when you take it apart.
