Having problems with your 1996 Mazda 626 ?

Engine dont run right till i disconnect the map sensor

When the pcm reads a complete sensor failure it goes into what is called a limp home mode which is a default setting for engine operation. no sensors are adjusting fuel mixture or ignition timming in this mode so yes you have a sensor out somewhere and its a very good chance its the map sensor but that is not going to be a fact with out diagnosing the sensor with a diagnostic tool another sensor could be the culperate and the unplugging of the map sensor caused a complete sensor failure and sending it in to limp home mode
