Having problems with your 1996 Mercury Villager ?

1996 Merc Villager has no power

\015 Gas got low, put 2 gal. in, now when I push on the gas hardly anything happens. I have to pump peddle just to get anywhere. If I feather it just right, I can get up to 45mph but if I press any harder, nothign happens. Changed fuel filter already & had tune-up a month ago. It was running great until the gas got low the other day. Pep Boys checked Codes, they are: P-0171 & P-0325\015\012 \015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

Answers :

PO171-System to Lean (Bank 1)
\015\012PO 325-Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1)
\015\012Disconnect battery for two minutes
\015\012If issues do not go away, you will need professional help
\015\012Other than running out of gas and setting codes, none of your previous work,is related.
\015\012If you still have issues related to these codes, and not to running out of gas, your list of items could be really long. So I couldn't possibly give a two hour semminar here.
The fuel pump may have cavitated(sucked air) causing a hole in the diaphragm of the pump the engine runs fine when your up to speed but put a load on it and you go no where
