Having problems with your 1996 Nissan 200SX ?

Remove/install starter on '96 Nissan 200SX SE-R

\015 I've been having some problems starting my car lately. Well, actually, now it will not start at all. The battery tested good, and the posts/terminals are clean/corrosion-free. I bypassed the clutch safety switch, so that's not it. Dash, headlights, and radio turn on when I turn the key to ''On,'' so I'm guessing it's not the ignition switch. Lately before it stopped running (about 4 days ago), I had to turn the key a few times to get it to start. And when I try to start it with the headlights on, they don't dim at all. I just get a ''click.'' All of this leads me to believe I have a faulty starter or solenoid, so I would like to know what is the easiest way to remove/install the starter on this particular model. Or if you believe it may be something else, any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 01-06-2020

Answers :

Test the solenoid first by leaving the key on start and putting a screwdriver across the two posts on the solenoid if this doesnt start the car its the starter if it starts its the solenoid
