Having problems with your 1996 Nissan Sentra ?

How do I release the tension in the serpentine belt?

\015 I have a Nissan Sentra 1996, the GA16DE Engine (which means I have the 6 Belt pully system because of my A/C and Idler...). The Generator (Alternator) is what I need to get off! How do I release the tension in the Serpentine Belt to remove and replace the Alternator?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 28-09-2020

Answers :

Just loosen lockbolt top mounting bracket then turn adjusting bolt counterclockwise to loosen drive belt slip it off the alternator.
There is an 8mm bolt right under the alternator. loosen that up then loosen the bolt on the idler pulley and itll come right off
