Having problems with your 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager ?

SPARK THEN NO POWER TO SOME THINGS

\015 I WAS RECENTLY GETTING SOME HELP PUTTING AN AFTER FACTORY RADIO IN MY 1996 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER. THE PERSON THAT WAS HELPING ME TRIED TO LINE UP THE WIRING HARNESSES W/OUT DISCUNNECTING THE BATTERY FIRST. THE RESULT WAS A PRETTY BIG SPARK, AND I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE DOME LIGHT WENT OUT. WE FINISHED THE INSTALLATION OF THE RADIO, BUT THE RADIO DID NOT TURN ON AND THE DOME LIGHT WAS STILL NOT WORKING (UNLESS THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON). I TOOK THE RADIO BACK OUT AND CHECKED THE CONSTANT WIRE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. THERE WAS NO POWER COMING FROM THE CONSTANT WIRE. I GUESS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS A RELAY, AND HOW DO YOU FIND THE RADIO/DOME LIGHT CONSTANT RELAY IF IT POSSIBLY IS THAT.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-07-2021

Answers :

Check all of the fuses and fusible link wires(smaller wires near battery + that are designed to blow like a fuse when there is a short or to much current draw) ; these wires are more flexible and have a softer coating and are usually heat tube sealed where they are joined to the standard wiring. Hope this helps!
