Having problems with your 1996 Pontiac Firebird ?
Going up a bridge over pass my car seemed to not want to shift gears. Like it didn't have much energy to finish the climb. After that it feels heavy and when I push down on the gas it's like it not getting enough gas to change gears but it still goes faster up to about 40. I've noticed fumes rising from around where the oil filler opening is but can't see exactly where it's coming from. Does this have anything to do with the fuel system possibly?
Answers :
SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A FUEL FILTER THAT IS PLUGED UP CHANGE THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IT
Never can hurt to change the Fuel Filter. Depending on the mileage wouldn't worry too much about the fumes
