Toyota avalon po406 what should I change

Answers :

That code belongs to the EGR valve, most of the time people will replace this part without solving the problem, the gas passages from the valve to the intake are the usual culprits not the valve itself, first check for cracked van hoses in the system (look under the hood there is an sticker with the vacuum diaghram on it ) then take the valve off and clean the passages with carburator cleaner and a small brush , may have to use a wire to clear the passages once they are clean the gases will circulate properly and the code should not comeback however if the electrical part is not working that is different problem and has to be done by someone with experience on automotive electronics.good luck
