Knocking in the engine

\015 I have a knocking sound in my engine when i rev the engine over 2000 rpm and it stops after 4000 rpm or higher, it's a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am 2.4 L. What could this possibly be?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-08-2019

Has the car recently been serviced?
Check your oil level, or anything different under the hood, ie, new oil stains, or signs of leakage.
This could possibly be the hydraulic tappits, that are in need of adjustment.
You'll need to hand over some green, to a descent mechanic tho.
But look for the obvious signs.
Hope that fixe'd'ya!

Sounds like you experiencing a crank bearing problem.Take a long half inch pipe or a long ratchet extension have someone race the engine for you,at the same time place the listening devise on various areas of the engine.Listen for the noise,YOU Will Know!
