Having problems with your 1996 Volkswagen Jetta ?

Alarm won't shut off so I can't start my car.

\015 The locks in both doors are broken and the alarm is going off for some reason. The car won't start while the alarm is going. How can I bypass the alarm?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 01-03-2021

Answers :

There should be a fuse in the power line to the alarm that can be pulled. Another possible solution would be to replace the started kill switch located under the dashboard steering column in most cases. If the vehicle is equipped with glass breakage detectors you can try unplugging the detector or motion sensor, again usually located under the dash either under the steering column or behind the glove compartment.
