Having problems with your 1996 Volvo 960 ?

OBD code 0103 MAF/VAF sensor bad or shor circuited. Car stalls at red light occasionally. Where is the sensor? How do you test to see if it is working, or if it is shorted?

That model,I am not sure of,but it is either in the air intake duct leaded out to the air cleaner box.Or it is in the intake throttle body, mounted before the throttle. It will be mounted where it will go inside the throttle body.It measures the air intake force. It will most likely have a three wire plug in on it.If you where to remove it,it would leave a hole in the throttle body.If it is the one that is mounted in the air duct,it will actually be part of it,but is removable.Either design is not hard to remove. Most likely is bad,if it said shorted, and it will make the car act up really bad.You can not really test except maybe unplug it,and there will not be much difference, except it might die,or rev up.Different effects, depending on computer mode.I hope this helps you,I do believe the replacement of it ,on this model with a new remanufactured one will solve the problem. If this information was helpful,in any way, please let us know, thank you.
