Having problems with your 1997 Buick Riviera ?

Blown trans on 97 riviera

\015 I just bought a 97 riviera less than a year ago. My transmission is slipping. The car wont drive. It would drive for 30 seconds than not accelerate anymore, but the car would stay on. Than you'd have to wait a few minutes and start it back up to drive again for another 30 seconds. We replaced the filer in the trans and it seemed to fix it. It worked for 2 or 3 weeks and it just blew out again. Im thinking of buying a new trans and puttin it in with my father. Is this going to be a complicated task or should we pay a professional?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-11-2019

Hi! Theres still a cure for this before deciding on replacing the whole transmission. The filter replacement was good but not enough. Please replace the torque converter, replace automatic transmission fluid and filter. This work is a lot easier and cheaper. HOpe this helps and have a good one!
