1997 Buick Riviera Horn

\015 I have a 97 Riviera and when I used the chirper to alarm the car after closing the door, the horn stayed on in one constant tone instead of just a short beep. I put the key in the door and even started the car, this didnt work. The only way I was able to stop the horn was to remove the horn relay located in the engine compartment fuse box.\015\012I replaced the relay with a new one and as soon as the relay has contact, the horn goes off again and is still just a very loud constant noise. Any ideas? I have an appt at the dealer tomorrow but I dont really have the money to be taken for a ride.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 12-11-2018

Before you have any work done by any repair shop or dealer ask for a firm estimate in writing. Ask about the warranty, how long is the work guaranteed. I often use an autoelectric repair shop as opposed to a dealer as dealers are often stealers. Joe
I would guess that the car alarm is defective and will need to be replaced.
If you don't have the money right now you may want to consider either having the alarm removed or use the valet parking option. By using it you will bypass the car alarm and in a since stop the horn issue.
The alarm module is solid state and is not servicable.
