Having problems with your 1997 Chevrolet Astro ?

Fuel pump pressure

\015 I am looking for info on fuel pressure at the injectors on a 1997 astro van with 4.3 litre. The fuel pump works but there doesn't seem to be enough fuel pressure, before or after the filter. Is there anywhere the line could be restricted and how much fuel pressure is needed ?\015\012\015\012Thanks.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 01-03-2021

Answers :

Try loosening the gas cap and see if that\015\012helps. Today's cars have no vents on the tank that don't have\015\012something to regulate the amount of ventilation. One of these systems\015\012may have failed. Loosening the cap stops a vapor lock.
\015\012If that doesn't do it, suspect a fuel pump regulator. Get a fuel\015\012pressure tester and see what delivery you have. Should be about 50\015\012psi. Too low means weak pump or too much bypass. Bypass is regulated\015\012by the regulator.
