\015 I want to put a 4l80e in place of my 4l60e transmission in a 1997 chevy k 1500. Is there anything that i need to buy or is there any information that anyone can give me.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-08-2018

This isn't as easy as you may think. The output shaft is different between the two so the transfer case (4wd) or driveshaft (2wd) wont' fit together. The computer control is different in each application. I wouldn't think that the crossmember set up is the same either, of course, I've only seen the 4L80 in 3/4 and heavier trucks.

\015\012You can build a 4L60 E so it is pretty tough. Change the gear sets to 5 pinion, heavy duty shell, wider band, aftermarket clutch packs, etc. This is what I recommend to my customers
