Having problems with your 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup ?

Oil pump and busted head gasket

\015 I believe the oil pump has gone out and I need to change it. Is it possible to do without pulling the engine out first?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 30-03-2020

Answers :

You should not have to pull the engine to do this project. However there is a cross member under the engine that will need to be removed first. Once this is done you need to un-bolt the motor mounts. Then you will need to lift the engine with a hoist. Now you can remove the oil pan and then the oil pump. Hope this information helps. Good luck.
