Having problems with your 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup ?

Very slow to kick in to reverse, first and second gears accompanied by high revving sound. Not a smooth transition to other gears as well. High revving until going. Very high fuel consumption as well. Once driven a bit gets sl;ightly smoother.

Answers :

It sounds like your transmission is slipping. they make this chemical you can get at a part store, its a transmission stabalizer. it should help with the grinding noise and transitions to the other gears. also give your truck a complete tune up (oil change, fuel and air filters, spark plugs etc.) it should help with the fuel consumptions.
