Engine misfires afterinstallion of Egr valve, distributor module,CPS

\015 This car ran fantastically for a long time - it started to fail in 2004.\015\012\015\012Would not start in Feb of 2006 and stayed parked until September 2007 - had code 11, 21 and 12. Found out that the code 11 meant that no reference signal was being set so car start relay was shut down.\015\012\015\012Paid $711 to have a new distributor module installed in Sept. 2007. But car was running rough and mechanic said the plugs were fouled. Code 21 and 12 came back on but no code 11 until October 22 when the code 11 came back and the car wouldn't start - yet again. The car had run very rough all that time and stalled out at lights, stop signs and so forth even before completelly breaking down in Feb. '07. It now ran rough but stalled less.\015\012\015\012I was discouraged and let the car sit until Jan 2008 when I had Tate Crysler replace the crankshaft position sensor after I foudn out that if it did not work no reference signal could be set in that case also. They put a new one in for $106 and checked the timing belt (which they had replaced in 2004). It ran like new and I was so relieved. Nevertheless it still cut out every so often and was hard to idle and start cold. I had known for some time that the EGR valve was intermittent and maybe by now totally failed so I replaced that to correct the bad cold starts. It worked but now the car misses on the highway at around 1500 and 2500 rpm. It starts like new and in town purrs like a kitten. I still have a faulty O2 sensor code and now persistent code 43( misfires). \015\012\015\012I shoudl note that after the code 11's were eradicated from the car (after Tate) I did get a faulty EGR code in addition to my code 21 (O2 sensor).\015\012SO when I replaced the EGR I thought I might still have issues but not the bad mssing on the highway. I know now that a faulty O2 throws the signal to lean and that this could cause a misfire.\015\012\015\012Please help - I need this car.\015\012\015\012Its got 152000 miles, 2.5 L 6 cyc 2 dr coupe. New crankshaft position sensor, new distributor module( and hense camshaft position sensor). After\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-02-2019

This may work. It's a bit costly but it will work. First, replace h.t. cables aka spark plug cables. They are the first to cause this type of problem. Then replace the 3 inner injectors. If u can all 6. Since you have a new distributor, replace the alternator as well, if it has too little current coming out, it will still idle rough. For your convenience (tht is if you live near a junkyard) there are sooo soooo many cars that have the same engine and engine parts eg Mitsubishi diamante & dodge stratus of the same year. Also as a sidenote, check your vacuum lines and their corresponding sensors. Your main issue, and I strongly bet on this one, is your inner cam head. The one under the intake unit. Since we do not temper with its parts, it wears out quicker than the outer head. Like I said, if u can't take off and put back the intake unit yourself, its gonna cost u a bit. Also check fuel pump filter, and if its feeding with enough pressure. Do that... It will run. Rough idle is fuel and electricity only.
