Having problems with your 1997 Dodge Dakota ?

1997 Dodge Dakota with 3.9 V-6 Temp gage reads 200 degrees

The gauge is most likely bad,remove the cluster from the dash and make sure the connector is secure,if it is,replace the temp gauge,it will be a dealer item,or a salvage yard,but make sure the connector to the cluster is in god shape and making good connection.
BTW the easiest and cheapest way of fixing that is to go to a breakers yard and get another instrument panel, it will be way cheaper than from any other source. And for a small fee they could also install it.
