Having problems with your 1997 Dodge Dakota ?

97 dakota, cliick/tapping noise, brown liquid spray, help

\015 This morning i ran to the store and noticed a clicking/tapping type noise under the hood, then later that night i ran about 1 1/2 miles down the road and the noise was there, louder, so i popped the hood and was immedialty sprayed in the face with liquid, there is a spray line on the underside of the hood from the belts. the steering and braking both seem fine. the liquid appears to be a rusty almost brownish color. Hard to tell in the dark with a flashlight. Also it seemed like the pulley that the radiator fan runs off is loose. If i push on the fan the whole pulley seems to move. Is that a bad water pump? Any info is appreciated as this is my only means of transportation. work is monday so i only have so much time to fix this issue. thanks\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-01-2019

Answers :

I would expect that the water pump has failed and would take a look closer in the morning and make sure nothing else has cracked, i expect the pump housing has but make sure its not a crack in the block or anything.
