Having problems with your 1997 Ford Expedition ?

Jeep won't start

\015 My jeep wont start how would I know if it is just the starter relay\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 01-06-2020

Answers :

Locate your relay. swap it with an identical relay in your power distribution box and see if it starts this is the easiest way. you can also put your finger on the relay does it click when someone turns the key to the crank position? there should also be a diagram on the side of the relay. you will have four to five posts on the relay it will show a switch which will be normally open and two post referenced for this switch, next there will be a post for your signal voltage which comes from the ignition it will run through a coil which goes to ground. with a jumper wire and the key in the run position you can jump the two posts in the power distribution referenced by the switch if the car starts chances are you have a bad relay.
\015\012if the car does start by jumping these terminals next with a test light check that you are getting signal from the ignition on one of the coil posts when the key is in the crank position.
