Having problems with your 1997 Ford F150 Regular Cab ?
Popping noise from rear end
\015 I have a 1997 Ford F150 and it makes an aweful popping news whenever it stops and starts, goes in reverse, or makes turns. I have been doing a little research and have heard a few things such as U-Joints and Rear Differential. Any other suggestions?\015

I would check out the universal joints. Crawl under the vehicle and see if there is any play in them by trying to move around the drive shaft. If there is excessive play then the u joints are the problem. Hope this helps and good luck.
HAve you changed the fluid???? Is it a limited slip rear end? Those require special fluid and an additive. If not correct rear end clutches can chatter and make noises too!
