Ford 4-wheel drive help

\015 I have a 1997 Ford F-150 4x4. My four wheel drive will not engage when it's below 30 degrees outside. If I keep turning it off and on it will engage but it can take up to an hour for that to happen. Any ideas?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 26-10-2020

Answers :

This is for 4x4 shifter on the floor.
\015\012In the front of the truck on the axle there's a plastic cover with 2 10mm bolts remove it and spray down the shifting actuator it operates on vacuum. You might have to pull it in four wheel and check to see if the vacuum pod is engaging the shift lever on the axle. Then again you might have to replace it very easy to do. But I would spray it down with some WD-40 it should work.
