When you drive, the cars foward movement forces air through the radiator keeping the engine temperature in check. When you are idling at a stop you need a fan to do this. There is a heat sensing unit either on the engine block or the inlet on the radiator that activates the electric fan.Sounds like it may be the electric fan or the control circuit/sensor.Ask a parts clerk at any of the parts outlets to show you a picture of the sensor and the location on the car. You may be able to short out the connector with a paper clip or wire.If the fan comes on the sensor is the problem. If it does't it will be the fan or the wiring.
Does it heat up while driving? if so it is prolly the thermostat or a clogged radiator.
\015\012if it is overheating when stopped and idling, it is the fan or fan fuse.
