Having problems with your 1997 GMC Suburban ?

I tried to start my 97 gmc burban and it wont start its catching spark to it but when I try to start it it sounds like something caught in my fan or something people told me it might be my solenoid or teeth missing out my flywheel PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
