Having problems with your 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

1997 Jeep grand cherokee laredo. OMG Where do I begin. My jeep ran great for 2 yrs. Not any more-for a year now it had been stalling. Sometimes while driving 60 miles an hour-it cuts off and then all of a sudden power again as I am gliding down the hwy. Sometimes not so lucky and it dies and does not kick back to life. When I stop and pull over it would most often start again-go figure. Sometimes stalls at light and starts again/sometimes not. UUUUGGGHHHH! Well my mechanic had put it on the mach

I had a very similar problem with my Chevy Blazer... turned out to be an intermittent coil wire. Easy enough to try unless you have already done it. Good luck
No one can give you a valid answer, without doing extensive testing. But, After reading what you posted, I'm leaning towards either a defective ignition switch or possibly the computer itself.
Give my sympathy to your mechanic... I've been doing this stuff a few years longer than he has which qualifies me as totally insane!!! He has done everything I would have on your vehicle but sometimes they play hard to get, and don't play fair.
I know thisn't a "fix" but only a suggestion on where to go with it.
PS...not wise to put your phone number where people all around the world can see it!!!
Good Luck!!
