Tachometer fails to work all of the time

\015 I love my '97 Montero ... it has 321,000 miles on it ... all by me.\015\012\015\012BUT:\015\012\015\012Recently, the tachometer does not function. Most of the time it registers "zero". Sometimes, after driving for a significant period of time, the tachometer functions ... turn the engine off & the tach fails to respond again.\015\012\015\012Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?\015\012\015\012Thanks\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 01-06-2020

Answers :

You will need to remove the tach and have it repaired by a factory authorized service center, don't go through the dealer, they will 2X the price.
