Valve tick is completely normal on a KA24DE. if you dont, start running a full synthetic oil. KA's are bullet proof, the motor will last 300k with no real problems...valve tick is nothing. I own 2 nissan 240sx, they have the same motor as your truck. i have a good amount of experience with them. hope that helps
But to be safe if you have a feeler gage and the specs u can check them.
