Having problems with your 1997 Pontiac Bonneville ?

1998 pontiac bonneville has no power to starter, fuel pump, instrument panel but all accesories (windows, lights, radio, heater, etc.) have power when when ignition is in run position. The car died wh

\015 Before it quit, I had trouble starting it. It started but only ran for a few seconds. After trying three more times it stayed running long enough to drive about twenty miles. At that point I noticed the volt guage fluctuating from 12 volts down to 0. After it died and I coasted to a stop, I looked under the hood and found the positive battery cable was loose. I tightened it and nothing. I separated and cleaned the two pos. cables and the neg. cable, still no luck. I Charged the battery still nothing. I then replaced it since it was almost eight yrs old anyway. Still has power to everything except the starter, fuel pump and panel. I'm hoping it's a fused link or relay or something simple and not the ignition switch/key cylinder\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 23-11-2020
