97 Pontiac Firebird V6 Not Starting

\015 I own a 97 Pontiac Firebird v6, and it seems not to be starting. I've checked the fuses, ignition coils & module. Also the cam sensor & the crankshaft sensor. It's turning over but just won't start. It randomly starts every now and then. Is this an electrical issue in the ignition or is it something bigger? I'm at a dead end. Help is appreciated.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-04-2021

The fact that it starts occassionally suggest that the problem is an unreliable spark or a fuel issue.
\015\012Here's a list of things that might solve your problem;
\015\012 Check the battery, if it's weak your engine won't roll fast enough and your spark will be weak. Take it to the auto parts store and have it checked, most stores will do it for free.
\015\012 If you're using old gas that could be the whole problem.
\015\012 Check all the ignition wires, a loose connection or bad wire is all it would take.
\015\012 Check all the ignition parts, worn or dirty parts can cause your spark to miss or fire at the wrong time or place.
\015\012 Check the spark plugs and wires, fouled or mis-gapped plugs or bad wires can cause misfires and oily wires can cause your spark to go almost anywhere.
\015\012 Check the choke, if it's not operating correctly it can throw your air/fuel mixture way off.
\015\012I know this is a lot of stuff to check, I tried to be thorough but I know I left out the most expensive fixes, Stator, Coil, Distributor, ect...
\015\012I hope this helps, if so, I'd be curious to know what the problem was.
