Having problems with your 1997 Pontiac Sunfire ?

I own a 1997 pontiac sunfire, my coolant indicator (looks like a jug with water on the bottom and an arrow in it) doesnt seem to want to turn off. I have topped off the coolant, and it still refuses to turn off. I also put in about 2 liters of oil, and it still wont turn off... any help?

Answers :

These switches are basically small floats built in the tank. Look at the tank and locate the area where the float is, and tap the side of the tank with a good sized screw driver handle in this area. Check for the light to go out when you jar the float out of its jammed state.
