Having problems with your 1997 Subaru Legacy ?

I drive a manual 1997 Subaru Legacy, when accelerating and braking, steering wheel has developed a vigorous shake. I checked my brake pads, and wear is even. What else could be causing the shake?

Answers :

A bad CV shaft can cause the vibration while accelerating and a warped brake rotor can cause shaking or vibration while braking.
Just had this problem recently, but mainly at higher speeds (freeway) Worn tread can create a possible bubble in the tire. (was my solution+ new tire) :)
