Having problems with your 1997 Toyota Corolla ?

Violent shuddering when accelerating over 80kph - not tyres

\015 First happened about 3 hours into 5 hr trip. Stopped twice and had wheels and balance checked. Limped home. Next day, no problem just around the city. 3 mechanics said it sounded like broken interior wall of tyre - but this couldn't be felt and wasn't visible. Before next long trip, put new tyres on front. 3 hrs later - shuddering again. On return trip home shuddering began 1/2 hr in - had to kept modifying speed to stop it for periods. Didn't happen going down hill. Steering wheel not shaking any more than rest of car - so it doesnt' seem to be steering related. Next thought is perhaps torque-converter? 1997 Corolla G-Touring Stationwagon Automatic.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 11-11-2019
