Having problems with your 1997 Volkswagen Golf ?

VW Golf Sensor problem?

\015 We have just purchased (privately) my sons first car, this is a 1.4 Volkswagen P registration. Today the car would not start it turns on but struggles to start. His girlfriends father seems to feel that it is the sensor. My son drove it home but if you go under 3 revs it cuts out, so you really need to put your foot down on the accelerator for the car to work. Has anyone come across this problem before? Unfortunately we have spent all of his savings on the car - but if we could get some idea of repair costs for this type of problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Maxine.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 12-08-2019

Answers :

\015\012f it is the sensor, it is located in thermostat housing on front of\015\012cylinder head. Part very expersive, and takes only a few minutes to\015\012replace. Sensor is colour coded, so be sue you replace it with same\015\012colour as one you removed
\015\012Best of luck
