Having problems with your 1997 Volkswagen Golf ?

Clutch pedal occasionally sticks half way down

\015 This first occured about 2 months ago and most often happens not whilst driving but when I first get in the car or parking.I pull the pedal back up with my foot and then it works fine.I did notice after this first happened that the brake fluid level was on minimum, have topped it up,there seems to be no leak.\015\012Do I need to be concerned about this problem and if so what is the cure?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-10-2019

Answers :

Make sure there is not an empty clutch reservoir (a lot like your brake fluid reservoir) up in the engine compartment, if it low or empty fill it.
\015\012as emissions wiz posted, a leaky master cylinder will keep leaking or losing pressure and needs to be replaced.
This problem is caused by the hydraulic clutch master cylinder, you will need to get it replaced, there is no other part that will do this except that cylinder.
