Having problems with your 1997 Volkswagen Jetta ?

My '97 Jetta 1.8L came without its "Service Manual" which is where VW apparently chooses to publish the maintenance schedule. When it was available from the dealer, it cost $4.95, so it can't be big. Do you know where I can find one, new or used? Or, where I can find the mileage matrix it contains that would tell me when to change oils, replace belts, etc.?

Answers :

I don't know where you can find one I searched but could not find one. Oil changes ever 3000 miles. Spark plugs and air filters every 30,000 miles, Timing belt every 100,000 miles. Serpentine belt check for crackes on the groved side at every oil change, if any sign of wear change. Top off all fluids when oil changes are done.
