Having problems with your 1998 Buick LeSabre ?

1998 Buick Lesabre has good battery, key won't start it, but can be jumped across the solenoid and fires right up for 10 to 15 seconds then dies?? Whats Happening here? Had it hooked up to a Mechanics Diagnostic tool and wouldn't give a problem code.

Answers :

The security ignition key reader is at fault. A chip is embedded under the keys plastic head. If the module can not read the key no longer the engine will die out after starting.
