I would try the reset procedure first and then inspect the actuator and\015\012 see if it is getting stuck.

\015\012This procedre reset the system. The car seems to do this after the \015\012battery is disconnected, The only thing that worked for me\015\012 (immediately) was to remove the A/C Heat Control Unit from in the car, \015\012directly below your cars radio/head unit, the one with the knobs. Remove\015\012 the two screws under your center consol/arm rest lid and the cover \015\012where the shifter is, pull it off, then the dash cover by genley pulling\015\012 on it and remove the two screws on each side of the unit. Pull the unit\015\012 out, unplug the wire harness and let it sit for 30 seconds. It will \015\012reset itself plug it back and the a/c will work again. Should take less \015\012than 5 minutes to do.

\015\012Other Chevy delaer Dealer said Module was bad... estimated 450-500 to \015\012fix but owner found a solution \015\012on the Web:\015\0121) Start truck
\015\0122) A/C comes out defrost - wait \015\012about 10 to 15 secs
\015\0123) A/C then starts coming out the floor vents \015\012for about 5 seconds
\015\0124) A/C then starts coming out the dash vents.
\015\0125)\015\012 While the A/C is coming out the dash vents, turn A/C OFF (otherwise it \015\012cycles back to defrost for good).
\015\0126) Turn truck OFF
\015\012Restart \015\012truck.
\015\012It WORKS!!!!!!!!!!! and it did not cost me anything!
\015\012

\015\012Hope helps.
