Best if a certified mechanic does this because you're going to need to buy some specialty tools but if you have em or know some one that does it is fairly easy.\012
\012Make sure you purchase the correct kind of refrigerant for the vehicle (includes the correct oil and what not) Any auto parts store can look up and get you the correct kind.\012
\012Now using the bottom and a special hose/adapter (Some bottles come with it) to connect to it and the AC system connect it to the low side valve (the smaller of the two) and do NOT open the bottle yet.\012
\012now turn on the car, and supply 12V from the battery to the wires coming out of the compressor (there should only be one wire) This will engage the clutch that will force the compressor to turn on. often they will not turn on if the pressure in the system is too low.\012
\012Now open the bottle and fill until it begins blowing cold air. If you have the specification and a set of gauges you can connect them to the high pressure and low pressure sides of the system and verify the pressures are as defined in the manual.\012
\012remove all components and replace any electrical connections and caps you removed.\012
\012hints:\012place the refrigerant bottle in a pot of warm/hot water, the system will fill faster.\012too much refrigerant will make the system work WORSE so do not overfill (past the point where it continues to get cold/ manufactures recommendations)
