Having problems with your 1998 Chevrolet Astro ?

My 1998 Astro has about 131,000 miles on it and I just recently experienced the same hard shift from 1st to 2nd as another person in this forum. It happened once about a year ago and then again recently. I read the solution about the possible failing pressure control solenoid. Is that inside the transmission or is it something easy to purchase and replace? Also should I do a fluid service change?

Answers :

It is inside the transmission. I would think that it might be an accumulator valve, but that's inside the transmission too. I would try to change the fluid and filter.
