Having problems with your 1998 Chevrolet Malibu ?

Right front wheel plan and road noise

\015 I started getting some road noise that increased with speed. It seems to be coming from the right front wheel area. I thought it was the sound tires make when they need to be replaced but, although worn, I seem to have plenty of tread left. I jacked up the front end and noticed left to right wheel plan (not top to bottom) on the right front wheel but no play on the left tire. When I make a right turn I notice the road noise decreases.\015\012\015\012At first I thought I may have a wheel bearing going bad, but I can't find anything in my Haynes manual to suggest that. CV joint maybe?\015\012\015\012Suggestions?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-08-2019

I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy. I am now getting a roaring sound comming from what I think is the front end. This is a 4x4. I looked in one book that I have and it said that if it is a barring I have to remove the complete axal to fix it.Is this something that I can do? I am good with my hands and aaaahave a good working abillity with cars.
