1998/99 Dodge Dakota clutch and manual transmission problems

\015 I've looked at two Dodge Dakota 4 cylinder trucks with manual transmissions. The first one had a clutch that slipped so badly it couldn't even pull away in first gear. It had done 75k miles. On the second truck, the clutch bit right at the top of the pedal travel. It didn't slip when being driven, though, and it shifted normally. When stationary, it was difficult to get the car into either first or second gear. The clutch wasn't dragging, though. The car had 116k on the clock. Are these types of problems common? Can the clutch be adjusted to bite lower on the pedal travel? Can the gear shift mechanism be adjusted in any way to engage first easier from stationary?\015\012\015\012\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 16-07-2018
